The SDWR Process

The SDWR Process

SDWR is dedicated to helping people with disabilities to live a more productive, independent lifestyle.  That is why we will not let someone’s inability to pay stop them from receiving assistance from our Service Dogs.  We offer several donation assistance programs to help fund the adoption of one of our Service Dogs.  We offer these programs because we do not want money to be the reason why our Service Dogs cannot help you.  We believe in our program and we strive to help anyone that needs us.

The process to obtain a Service Dog through us begins with a screening period and then is entered into the funding programs. Every dog is paid for with donations from the community. The only thing we ask from our clients is to raise the deposit.  We than happily introduce you to your new companion.  We want to make sure that there are several visits with you to make sure your new Service Dog is a perfect fit for you.

Case Studies

The University of Virginia conducts extensive research on the effectiveness of Service Dogs. The results are astounding.  They concluded that Service Dogs have a 93% proficiency rate.  We knew our program was efficient but to have UVA conclude that Service Dogs work at a 93% proficiency rate was confirmation that we are doing exactly what we set out to do by providing you with an exceptionally talented Service Dog.

If you feel an SDWR Service Dog would benefit you, give us a call and we will gladly help you along the process.  We will answer any questions that you may have. We are here for you and we only want to provide you with the stability and security that we know our Service Dogs can provide.
